Diane Stranz on American Life

Diane E. Stranz is an attorney and writer who is single parenting two young sons in Arlington, Texas.  She observed a vow of poverty for 13 years (April 1996 – April 2009) and lived below the federal poverty line for most of that time (i.e., an annual income of less than $18,000 per year).   From 2000 to 2005 Ms. Stranz was married to a man labeled at age 17 as a ‘Registered Sex Offender’ for a crime he did not commit;  she and her family have, thus, been regularly the targets of ‘hate crime.’  She intends to eventually pursue litigation to clear his name, as well as publish books and screenplays to bring to public awareness the lessons learned from her experiences of American poverty and social stigmatization.
